X-ray examination

X-ray examination

During an X-ray examination, special equipment is used to take X-ray photos of the inside of your body, e.g. your lungs or bones. X-ray radiation can go through the body's tissues. The amount of radiation that can pass through the various bones, tissues and organs differs. As a result, the various structures inside the body are visible on an X-ray photo.

Why do I need this exam?

X-ray images can be used to visualise certain abnormalities. Because bones are particularly visible in X-ray images, such images are often used to see if a bone is broken.
